What is Shop 2nd Saturday?

Shop 2nd Saturday is your monthly excuse to get out, shop local, and score some really good deals while you’re at it. On the second Saturday of each month, businesses all across Appanoose County offer specials you can only get that day. It is the perfect time to grab lunch, pop into your favorite shops, and maybe discover a new go-to spot along the way. Bonus: every dollar you spend locally goes right back into the community, so you can feel good about it without overthinking it.

Even better, the whole thing is built to be simple and consistent. Instead of switching things up every month, you can expect reliable, worthwhile deals from participating businesses all year long (April-March), all tied to one idea: building our community one purchase at a time. That means less guesswork, more fun, and plenty of reasons to make it part of your routine. Show up, shop around, and enjoy the kind of experience you can only get right here in Appanoose County.

What is the PACT Perks program?

PACT Perks is our way of saying thank you for doing something that already makes a big impact, choosing to shop local. Every time you spend money at a PACT member business, you are not just checking something off your list, you are supporting jobs, small businesses, and the future of Appanoose County. So we figured… you should get a little something back too!

Here’s how it works. Save your receipts from any PACT member business and turn them in to earn rewards. The more you shop local, the more you earn. It is that simple. Just keep in mind that receipts must be from PACT member businesses to count, and the maximum value per receipt is capped at $250. Whether you are grabbing lunch, shopping downtown, or checking off errands, it all adds up. Shop local, turn in your receipts, and enjoy the perks.

How to start earning rewards:

Step 1: Make a purchase at a PACT member business. Shop, dine, book, browse, or treat yourself. As long as your receipt is from a current PACT member business, it can count toward your total.

Step 2: Bring your first receipt to the PACT office That is how you get started in the program. We will create your running total and get you on the list.

Step 3: Keep turning in receipts throughout the year You can bring receipts in as you earn them, or stockpile them and drop off a batch at once. Whatever works best for you. We will keep track of your cumulative spend throughout the year and totals will reset on March 1st.

Step 4: Watch your spending add up and unlock rewards As your eligible receipt total grows, so do your perks:

  1. $250: added to the exclusive “PACT Perks” email list plus $10 in Appanoose Bucks.
  2. $500: choice of $20 in credit at PACT(for things like Pancake Day shirts or event tickets) or $20 in Appanoose Bucks.
  3. $1,000: entered in monthly gift card giveaways to local businesses
  4. $2,500 : Choice of $100 credit at PACT or $100 in Appanoose Bucks
  5. $5,000: Free ticket to the PACT Annual Banquet plus your choice of $250 credit at PACT or $250 in Appanoose Bucks

Step 5: Keep a couple thing in mind! Receipts must be from PACT member businesses to count towards the program and the maximum value of any one receipt is $250.

Step 6: Shop Local, Earn Perks, Repeat! That’s really the whole idea. Support the businesses that support Appanoose County and let your local spending work a little harder for you.
