Planes, Trains & Automobiles 2026

Spend the first Saturday in August exploring three unique attractions during Planes, Trains & Automobiles in Centerville, Iowa.

At the Centerville Municipal Airport (20320 545th Street), visitors can view a variety of aircraft and enjoy plane rides from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Head to the historic CB&Q Depot (1124 S. 18th Street) to explore exhibits highlighting the railroad and industrial history of Centerville and Appanoose County. Visitors can also tour the 3-car motorized rail work train and caboose.

On Centerville’s historic town square, the Automobiles portion of the event features a large classic car show, hosted by Centerville Fire & Rescue, with proceeds benefiting updated equipment for the department.
