DESCRIPTION:Spend the first Saturday in August exploring three unique attractions during Planes\, Trains & Automobiles in Centerville\, Iowa. \nAt the Centerville Municipal Airport (20320 545th Street)\, visitors can view a variety of aircraft and enjoy plane rides from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. \nHead to the historic CB&Q Depot (1124 S. 18th Street) to explore exhibits highlighting the railroad and industrial history of Centerville and Appanoose County. Visitors can also tour the 3-car motorized rail work train and caboose. \nOn Centerville’s historic town square\, the Automobiles portion of the event features a large classic car show\, hosted by Centerville Fire & Rescue\, with proceeds benefiting updated equipment for the department. Judging begins at 1:00 p.m.\, with awards presented at 3:00 p.m.\, including special features like Rick’s Pick for cars under $15\,000. \nBeyond the cars\, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. Grab a bite from food vendors\, browse local sellers\, and take part in crowd favorites like the 50/50 raffle and mud volleyball. Vendors are welcome to join the fun\, and spectators can enjoy a lively atmosphere all day long. \nEntry into the car show is $15\, and all proceeds go to benefit the City of Mystic.
