The Moravia Fall Festival, set to take place from September 12th to 14th in Moravia, Iowa, promises to be a vibrant celebration filled with activities that reflect the charm of small-town life. The day kicks off with the Kiddie Parade at 10:30 AM, followed by a Pedal Tractor Pull and Dog Show in the late morning. The afternoon is filled with exciting entertainment including a Hillbilly Basketball Wagon, a balloon artist, face painting, and caricature drawings. For those who enjoy a bit of friendly competition, there will be a spelling bee at 3:45 PM, and for food lovers, a baked goods auction at 4:45 PM. The day wraps up with a talent showcase at 7 PM, followed by a community-wide Bingo event at 8 PM, and a night of music on the square featuring the band Wildfire Creative.
Saturday is a full day of festivities, starting bright and early with the Moravia Firefighters Breakfast at 7 AM and a Fun Run at 8 AM. The morning continues with a variety of competitions, including a Horseshoe Pitching Tournament, a Wood Chopping Contest, and the highly anticipated Kiddie Bingo. The library will once again be open from 9 AM to 1 PM, and a host of activities for children and families are scheduled throughout the day. Highlights include the Big Parade at 3 PM, showcasing local floats and performers, followed by a cake walk, wrestling show, and a contest for the best-dressed Miss Moravia Contestants. The evening features performances by local talent, including a concert by “Eli Alger and The Faster Horses” at 7 PM. The festival concludes with a street dance at 9 PM, ensuring that the celebration ends on a high note with music, laughter, and dancing under the stars.
